The Soul Aesthetic Is Super Cool

Recently I’ve gotten really into the aesthetics of soul music.

It all started when me and my friend were talking about an app he was making about organizing your vinyl collection.

I tried making a redesign of his homepage (it sucked), but in the process I looked into soul music album covers for inspiration.

My thinking was as follows:

• Vinyl is for old music

• The best old music is soul music.

• The design should be soul inspired.

To me, the best examples of the Soul Aesthetic are sorta trippy. They are really colorful, maybe psychedelic. They also have awesome handmade fonts like the Marvin and Bubblegum font!
